Sand is currently being pumped to Snapper Rocks East
Sand pumping occurs primarily at night, except under specific conditions such as system testing or storm events during which continuous operations may occur. When outlets are operating it is in your interest to keep clear for safety reasons. The individual sand delivery outlets have different uses. Dredging of the Tweed River entrance is currently being undertaken
Dredging commenced on 17 May 2008 and is scheduled to continue until mid September 2008. Up to 200,000m3 of sand will be removed from the entrance area to improve navigation of the Tweed River entrance. Sand is being placed generally between Duranbah Beach and Pt Dangerat depths of up to -15m AHD. An objective of this campaign is to place sand in such a way as to slow its movement into Coolangatta Bay.
